dA Academy Fanfiction Lesson FourObjective:
Setting

Now, setting is very important when writing a fanfic. It clears out the pathway for the plot, and usually in your fandom, many settings are already established. An example is a character's home and while it seems basic, these are very important stepping stones. You usually describe your setting of the story in the beginning, but that depends on your writing style. However, I strongly recommend it. Setting tells the reader what and where the story is taking place, and that should usually be told early (unless you are trying to drag the reader in and confuse him/her).
